"We just received our Paul Bunyan twin-twin bunk bed and love it. We purchased it for our twin girls who previously had a twin-twin bunk bed that did not stand the test of time. All the bunk beds we saw in the stores were made with wooden slats for the mattress support, which is exactly what my girls broke twice before we finally had to trash the top bunk. The new bed is a world of improvement over our first bunk beds and I feel at peace knowing that they are safer. And the price for such good quality is very reasonable. Also, the added head room for my daughter who sleeps on the bottom bunk was a huge plus. Steve was extremely courteous and helpful to work with. We bought two sets of the Viking model for our house in the Poconos and our two boys love them and enjoy having their cousins and friends stay in their room with them as well. "We have had our beds for a year now. We purchased the Paul Bunyan with a trundle. I asked Steve if there was anyway he could design the trundle so that we could converted to a drawer for storage later. He made it that way for us! I definitely recommend getting the cutout for the upper bunk. It makes it so much easier coming down. These beds are beautifully crafted and sturdy. I have complete confidence in their strength, I never worry. Just a helpful hint for parents, I bought a folding 2 step ladder from Lowe's and it slips right behind the dresser which makes changing sheets MUCH easier.
